The Wash House Story formed after IDDO, the greatest female rock band (ever) ceased to be when Ellie ran away to Wales. Luckily, Abbie followed some years later, and the pair reformed to play an acoustic set in November 2006.
Whilst Ellie takes time out from reading books, and Abbie stops doing things with animals (zoology student), the pair get together to write, record, perform and generally make lovely music. All the songs you hear on this site have been written and performed by their own fair hands.
Although distance and time causes difficulties in getting together, the pair have been building up thier collection and have recorded several demo albums, the most recent of which is thier first full band sound. (Thanks to Ash and his added Funk, a multi track recorder and a lovely man called Matthew Greenaway)
The sound ranges from acoustic goodness to a strange blend of folk cheesy ballad ska funk and a slight touch of hanson. It depends which tracks are up at the time before you start asking where the hanson is.
Several gigs in the bag, the band are now ready to play some more although playing three instruments at once doesn't always work too well live...
