Singer/songwriter Michael R. Sanchez has used THE WAY IT IS as a moniker since 2001. After stints in New York City and Seattle he moved to Chicago in 2006 and teamed up with keyboard player Theodore Blair, drummer Don Markus and bassist Ruby Forsmann.
The Onion's AV Club has called their combination of catchy melodies, electronic beats and vintage pianos the perfect mix of heart-on-the-sleeve warmth and futuristic street cool.
The Way It Is has performed in venues all across the U.S. including
Seattle's Bumbershoot and The Seaport Music Festival in New York City.
They have shared the stage with such acts as Devotchka, Clap Your
Hands Say Yeah and The Dead Science.

Yo, did you see my new design for that foundation in Brazil? it would be cool to animate those layers up... I got beaten by motion all the way to the ground, it was an ugly KO.
