    About the Pastor
Rev. Jennie Churchman is an awesome leader of worship and teacher of the scriptures. We share in an experiential style of worship. We occasionally participate in different activities within the worship service that help to bring home the message in a very tactile way. For additional information or conversation with the pastor, email Rev. Jennie Churchman or call 214.361.6641.

About me:

Jesus will change your life if you follow him in The Way

T urn your life around:
H ear the Good News of Jesus Christ.
E xpress your faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, your Lord and Savior.

W ash in the waters of new life through baptism.
A ct like Christ every day.
Y ield your life to God as a living sacrifice.

At The Way, we are part of a larger fellowship called the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). In the Christian Church, we confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and our Savior. Making this profession of faith is all that is required to be part of our fellowship. We pattern our faith lives together on the model in the Book of Acts, particularly Acts 2:42-47.

SERMON SERIES
"Boot Camp"
Boot Camp at The Way will be a crash course in basic Christian Theology. Many of our spiritual questions have centered on the core issues of our faith. This series will give us an opportunity to learn more about these core issues from diverse perspectives. This will be a challenging series; it may even make you uncomfortable. But isn't that what all Boot Camps do? By the end of July, you will have a solid - albeit basic - understanding of Christian theology and hopefully the desire to learn and explore Christian theology even more deeply.

BIBLE STUDY
Our study of the Didache, a first-century training manual for making disciples was compleded in June. And because of the intense schedule of our Activities Building workdays, The Way Bible Study will take a break for the months of July and August. We will resume our Bible Study on September 13 with an intense study of Paul's Letter to the Romans. All are welcome.

RECENT/UPCOMING EVENTS
Activities Building Workdays
We are continuing to transform the Activities Building into our new worship space. So far we have cleaned the space; removed the dropped ceiling and existing light fixtures; and begun renovating the bathrooms. Up-coming workdays include:

July 11: Painting and creating mosaic table tops (all-hands on deck)
July 18: Electrical work (only a small team is needed)
July 25: Painting and other work (all hands on deck)

Any help you can give to this effort is needed and appreciated. Please come as your schedule allows. Breakfast and lunch are provided for all workdays.

Worship Planning Meeting
We will have a planning meeting for our fall worship series and programs on Sunday, August 16 beginning at 12:30. Lunch is provided, and all are welcome.

Fifth Sunday Offering:
July 26
As we continue to seek ways to be REAL and CONNECTED, we have another opportunity to meet real, tangible needs of people with whom one of our own members is in direct contact. Laura volunteers at a women's shelter and has shared with us that they are in need of NEW undergarments for women. You can bring donations with you to worship on July 19 and July 26.
