Hey, really appreciate the music you’re making, especially being based in the North East. It’s wonderfully arranged and is like a breathe of fresh air. Thank you. x
On 24th July WARM DIGITS are playing a double-header with amazing Leeds trio QUACK QUACK for one night only - Like the great rhythm sections of James Brown, Africa 70, Can and Led Zeppelin, Quack Quack operate right next to your heartbeat and your footsteps. They understand the importance of rhythm and use it to get the good chemicals flowing. This is music for dancing and smiling. With sterling support from the new vocal project from Chippewa Falls' RACHEL LANCASTER and the DISTRACTION SOUND SYSTEM. Newcastle Cumberland Arms 8pm - Three Quid - hope you can come.
Activities begin at 1pm at The Place, in Athenaeum St, Sunniside, with Maximo Park’s Duncan Lloyd's 'Songwriting Masterclass'.
Jim Mawdsley, CEO of Generator and Director of The Evolution Festival leads a 'Live Music Promoter Workshop' from 3pm.
Then, from 6pm, an A&R panel session will take place featuring reps from 1965 Records, EMI, Universal and XL Records.
The SMF AGM will directly precede the A&R session.
If your music requires attention, bring along a CD to receive individual feedback on a first come-first served basis!!!!
Following the day’s events at The Place, The White Room in Holmeside will host the evening’s live show, featuring Frankie & The Heartstrings, U-U, The Wooden Spoons and Widows. Doors open at 8pm.
Admission for all events is free but limited and subject to advance booking. For more information contact joe@generator.org.uk or call 0191 2450099 ext 4 or The Sunderland Music Forum on 01915671777.
We're lucky enough to have these guys playing at our festival, on the 15/16/17th May – the whole event is powered by renewable energy and hopes to show people how to live a more sustainable lifestyle – featuring composting loo's, peddle powered and solar stages and these great artists -
