"The Weird Sisters" is the name of the new CD by Switchblade Kittens released July 11, 2006!

We are the band Switchblade Kittens that posted our song "Ode to Harry Potter" for Christmas/ Channakah in the year 2000. The song soon had 3 million downloads and was featured on most Harry Potter fan sites. Because the song was from the point of view of Ginny Weasley it is considered the first "Wizard Rock" song. The song was so popular we played the first ever Nimbus and conventions after that. We also role play as "The Weird Sisters". This is our bio as The Weird Sisters:
The Sisters humble beginning stared when the bandmates all met while registering as Animagus at the Ministry of Magic, instantly becoming the inseparable quartet. They found a place to practice their music as the house band for The Three Broomsticks pub, playing only for butterbeers. Word of mouth in the wizarding world is quick, soon Albus Dumbledore himself, asked them to play the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardrys annual Yule Ball.
At a Weird Sisters concert in 2000, a few overzealous fans magically mega phoned the concert causing several hundred muggles to hear it. To alleviate work for the Department of Muggle Relations, The Weird Sisters are now known in the muggle world as the Switchblade Kittens. This alter ego seemed somewhat appropriate for fact that each bandmate is an Animagus of a feline form.
Although some of the band members were famous before The Weird Sisters, they have all used their fame as rockers to branch out in other ambitions.
The Band
Drama Kitten (the lead singer) has created her own clothing range called Cats Claw. Drama is famous for wearing her black robes ripped with pink lace showing beneath the rips. Her latest Cats Claw creation is the mini-robe. This has been causing a stir with some of the more conservative-minded due to the revealing aspect. Numerous detentions have been given to those wearing the mini-robe for violating the robe length rules for students. Criticized for being too short to be decent and even racy, Drama retorts that these robe length regulations are extremely old fashioned standards from when Delores Umbridge was the High Inquisitor. Drama shocked Daily Prophet readers last year when she claimed her inspiration for the woolly jumper that featured kittens who jump and meow was actually Delores Umbridge herself. Later this month she has plans to debut the half moon vest top. A clear bra-like top with gold twinkling trim and that projects tiny rainbows, which she claims was inspired by Albus Dumbledore's glasses. Drama asserts her years at Hogwarts were her biggest fashion influence.
The bands bassorama player (a bass enchanted to play like a guitar) is Pep Kitten, the great, great, grandson of the inventor who made the self-stirring cauldron. Bucking his potions past, Pep turned to athletics. Pep was a Keeper on his Beaubatons Quidditch team in school although a hard hit to the head with a bludger forced him to quit playing Quidditch, although he wears Quidditch robes on stage. He too is known to be making a stir in the fashion world as he likes to wear his Quidditch robes two sizes too big and extra long sometimes having one of his minders to carry the robe ends like a train. This style has caught on to young wizards causing parents to complain that the baggy robes cause young wizards to look like ragamuffins. School Quidditch captains disapprove of this fad because they claim their team players miss obvious shots because they are impeded by robes that are too long. The style was so popular that wizards that dont even play Quidditch are walking around wearing extra long Quidditch robes everywhere they go. Robes for young wizards that have a four foot train that read THE WEIRD SISTERS are on sale through Peps mail order owl catalog. Pep is also a long time urban broomsurfer and strong advocate for this sport, recently a guest speaker at the Annual Magical Games and Sports Division Meeting to urge them to pass legislation legalizing the sport.
The third band member Tabbie Kitten (drums, drumbass and responsible for all weird sound effects) is known for her romantic streak. Tabbie won the Witch Weekly Heart Shaped Quill Award for penning the romance novel Love Potion Number 9. This formula romance novel featuring the handsome Gilderoy Lockhart -esque leading hero was exceptionally noted because the book to physically kiss the hand of the reader. This later caused somewhat unforeseen problematic issues, and was discontinued after it was discovered that the book would become jealous of the reader touching other books on the bookshelf, leading to duel challenges. After several book fights to the death the publishing industry as a whole decided that Love Potion Number 9 was a public library hazard and it is now out of print. Tabbie decided to stop writing novels for the time being to focus solely on writing drum parts for The Weird Sisters.
The final member of The Weird Sisters is Coffie Kitten (75-string bassist). Coffie is a valedictorian graduate of Beauxbatons Academy. Coffie is a Pureblood, all of her life she has been followed by the press and featured in such publications as Pureblood Fortnightly and No Mud Magazine. These magazines constantly speculate about her love life but the studious Coffie is mum when the interviewer inevitably will inquire. So much attention is focused on Coffie because he is the only daughter of an odd marriage between her mother, a magically humanized brain, and her father, a pureblood wizard of high social standing. It is also suspected that the press follow Coffie her entire life because they anticipate that he could sprout medulla oblongata. She however claims that even if he did have brain parts, he wouldnt sprout them in public. Yet, she has shown the world her brains by smoothing over an unfortunate miscommunication between a Banshee diplomat and a Faerie King during the World Cup. Coffie speaks over 1,000 languages but when asked how she knew how to speak Banshee, she claims she was "using her brains to wing it." Banshees are hostile and no witch has ever lived among them, to learn their language.
The Weird Sisters are the most popular rock band in the wizarding world, especially with young wizards and witches. Their loud infectious music can be heard every week on the popular radio The Wireless Wizarding Network.
There is currently a podcast that follows Drama in her life as a cat animagus trying to live her life as a muggle with the band.
It can be heard by muggles at www.myspace.com/switchbladekitten
