Jeremy Ezell and The Well Reds...
Jeremy Ezell strives to create an authentic brand of pop/rock. As the former front man for Wilson Empire, Ezell accrued years of touring experience and has opened up for national acts: Switchfoot, Moses Mayfield, Blues Traveler, and Angie Aparo. Throughout these experiences he cultivated the intelligent lyrics and infectious melodies that have become a staple in his writing, as demonstrated on his latest album, OF LOVE AND LAW.
Jeremy's new band, The Well Reds, is already creating a buzz throughout the Southeast based on the strength and versatility of their live performances in support of OF LOVE AND LAW. Whether playing a plugged-in-amped-up-rock-show... or slowing it down with an acoustic set, The Well Reds' flexibility with instrumentation and approach places an emphasis on communicating the music and performing a cohesive show. The band took form in fall of 2008. Guitarist/pianist Sean Crawford, bassist Rex Crawford, and drummer Torin Degnats (Elli Perry, formerly of Rantings of Eva) were originally brought in to finish the instrument tracking for the album, much of which was produced by Dan Hannon (Manchester Orchestra, Aaron Shust). Upon completion of the tracks (Forever is a Breath, Tragedy, Feeling Love), an undeniable synergy had developed within the quartet. Within a few months, The Well Reds collectively began looking forward, and their first show saw them sharing the stage with EPIC recording artists Automatic Love Letter and A Cursive Memory.
The Well Reds used the first quarter of 2009 to perform and promote OF LOVE AND LAW. Following a very successful series of performances in Atlanta venues, on college campuses, at Nashville showcases, and on live Florida radio shows, their emphasis is now on expanding the range of their touring moving into the summer and fall. Reviews for OF LOVE AND LAW have been positive with "Believe In What You've Never Known" and "Forever Is A Breath" pushed as singles. For Jeremy, the album is a marriage of the contrasting influences that dotted his youth: echoes from Phil Collin's "Hello I Must Be Going" sit in concert with Beethoven's "9th Symphony"... in the driving guitars and refreshing melodies of Ezell's "Forever is a Breath", the epic spaces of "Tragedy", and in the quiet soulful musings of "Behind Your Eyes"...
