Lee Ann Westover moved to New York after studying Italian and English Literature at The University of Texas. Translation of a single opera taught her that that career was not to be her path. It was by pure coincidence that she became a vocalist in 1997. A chance meeting with another singer scored her a first gig, a slot in the Camaros - a nationally touring swing band. After several years of learning-by-doing, Lee Ann helped found the Lascivious Biddies and has dedicated herself to the project with verve. Along with The Biddies' credits, her songs have been featured in several films which have been screened all over the world, including the Sundance, Venice and Tribeca Film Festivals. Famous, from The Biddies' album, Get Lucky was honored in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. For the stage, Lee Ann created a segment for 8x10, work-shopped and debuted at the famed New York Theatre Workshop (Rent, Bright Lights Big City) alongside Norah Jones and Jesse Harris. In recent years, her musical and literary paths have come together as she writes about music and theater for several New York City papers. Her blog, www.TheIronicMullet.com, treats travel, food and culture from the perspective of an itinerant musician.
