- AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT... THE BIO - The West Side Winders began in early spring of 2001 under the name The Sidewinders. Guitarist/vocalist Dan Peters took a wide variety of influences and worked towards developing a group that would be both technically challenging and highly entertaining.
After working through a few lineup and stylistic changes, he found the perfect niche in the form of a swingin', surfabilly power trio.
Their music mixes rockabilly, surf, jump-blues, honky-tonk, jazz and western swing into a high-octane blend that rocks a little harder than your typical roots oriented group. This sound was perfected on their first CD release from 2004 - "Come and Get It" (available at www.cdbaby.com/sidewinders) and continues with their latest release - "Snaken Not Stirred" (available at www.cdbaby.com/westsidewinders) which, in 2007, spent several months in the top 100 on the AMA radio charts. Plus, for fans of great guitar, both albums really put the spotlight on Dan's virtuoso six-string skills.
All three members of The West Side Winders are journeyman musicians who have recorded; performed and toured the world with many Chicago based acts.
All I can say is WOW I was totally blown away alone with everyone else that was here. Venue owners reading this, book these guys and prepair for some shock and awe!! Definetly will talk soon. Thanks!!!!! Andy
You guys are too good to be only entertaining the Chicago crowd. I'll be glad when you come out east but would love to see you in various cities on a national tour. You gotta show this country what they are missing.
