Our Bio:

The WestWind Band has been performing for TWENTY FIVE PLUS years since March of 1984. We play top 40 Country, Spanish & Rock-n-Roll. We also play original music off of our compact disc entitled “The WestWind Band ", "IT'S.....BLENDER TIME!!!” It was recorded at Winfield Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico in January of 1992. All the music and lyrics were written and performed by The WestWind Band and receives "Air Play" on radio stations KANW FM 89.1 and KUNM 89.9 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

During the summer of 1992, The WestWind Band won the local competition of the 1992 True Value, G.M.C. "Country Showdown" at the "Caravan East" nightclub in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We then moved on to the Colorado/New Mexico state competition at the "Grizzly Rose" in Denver, Colorado and took second place.

The WestWind Band has performed as the opening act for many headliners including "Juice Newton", "Bryan White", "David Ball", "Gene Watson", "Bo Diddley", "Lynn Anderson", "Rick Trevino", "Don Williams", "Dan Seals", "The Bellamy Brothers", " Shenandoah" and "Hank Williams III" to name a few. The WestWind Band performed for the "Tri-Culture Fest" bringing together the German, Hispanic and Native American cultures and also provided musical accompaniment for master yodeler "Richard Brandl" from Germany.

The WestWind Band has been performing for many events sponsored by the City of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1988 including "Summerfest" Native American Night, "Fiestas De Albuquerque", "Country Fest" and "Route 66 Festival". The WestWind Band has also performed in Sells, Arizona, Belen, New Mexico & Bernalillo, New Mexico for local rodeo associations. September 1992, The WestWind Band performed in Tingley Coliseum at the New Mexico State Fair grounds for concert/dance following the "1992 Bull Riding championship". Since 1992, The WestWind Band has made numerous appearances at the New Mexico State Fair on the "Miller Pavilion", "Salsa y mas", "Indian and Spanish Village stages.”

The WestWind Band has performed through out the Albuquerque night club circuit including Rudy's Honky Tonk, Boot Scoots and the Caravan East. Also, casinos in the area including Isleta casino, Santa Ana Star casino, Sandia casino, Sky City casino, Dancing Eagle casino, Route 66 casino, Casino Hollywood, Buffalo Thunder casino, Camel Rock casino, Ohkay casino & Big Rock casino.

January 1997, The WestWind Band was selected to perform for the 1997 American Indian Presidential Inaugural Ball for President WILLIAM J. CLINTON in Washington D.C. at the Hyatt Regency, Crystal City by the American Indian Society of Washington D.C.

January 1997, The WestWind Band recorded the song entitled "Guacamole" and is currently receiving airplay on KANW-FM 89.1 and KABQ-AM 1250 in Albuquerque and on KARS-AM 860 in Belen, New Mexico..
