‘The What 4’, Adelaide’s new, experimental rock band have just released their debut, full-length CD, ‘Say it Straight’.
The band members, from diverse backgrounds, combine their experience and talent to produce a unique, melodic and innovative groove.
Previous projects include: Martire, Orgy of Pigs, Free Moving Curtis, Bum Bum, Beltane, Stiff Kittens, Prototype, Happy Porpak, Antireason and Lankey.
While focusing on dynamics and a simple formula, the band is driven by a fluid rhythm section, atmospheric synthesizers, emotive guitars, feminine/ chocolate vocals and sound effects.
After generating interest through live performance since mid 2007, the band were enthused when local, alternative radio station ‘Three D Radio’ (93.7FM) responded with plenty of airplay, sending ‘The What 4’ to No.1 on their weekly ‘Top 20+1’ chart three times in 2008. (three different releases).
This Saturday The SlimeBalls will be bringing skate rock to the Mile Die Club v Salty Dolls bout. Start rockin' at 6pm for pre-bout tunes and again at half time with a skate demo with some of Adelaide's raddest skaters. Gunna be FUN! April 18 Wayville Showgrounds. $10
