Single Review: The Whatmans Devil Shoes---->
Navan based indie rock outfit The Whatmans are set to release their debut single on September 7th. The
single entitled Devil Shoes features three tracks, Devil Shoes, Follow Me and Casino Unplugged.
The lead single Devil Shoes sees the release off to a good start. A heavy rock n roll concoction of ardent
drumming and rampant guitars, Devil Shoes is a well produced track that has enough mainstream polish
to garner some serious radio play.
The second track Follow Me has a strong almost anarchical vibe to the music. Lead singer John Brennan
provides tough, no nonsense vocals against a persistent hard rock inspired beat. In some ways Follow
Me is reminiscent of Britpop purveyors Oasis at the height of their game during the mid to late nineties.
Following on from the heavier first two tracks Casino, opening with a mellower lead guitar could easily
be described as the acoustic slow burner of the release. The melody is consistent throughout backed by
a slightly textured rhythm while the lyrics provide a despairing look at today’s world. At times Brennan’s
vocals are restrained but have enough conviction to carry the track through.
Devil Shoes is a release well worth your time and attention, you won’t be disappointed.

MUSIC REVIEW UNSIGNEDS REVIEW OF EP "FOLLOW ME":
"Dublin's indie rock outfit The Whatmans have crafted this three track stunner yeah.. you might say" well hell yeah let your hair down and get ready to be rocked, the first track "Follow me" has all the ingredients of indie pop culture right to the bone, I love the second track "Guns of Dublin" its nice to hear some Thin Lizzy still lives on in upcoming acts today and this track hits you in the face with its melodic bass groves and thumping drums. the third track I am rock and roll has a high end rock beat but has just a hint of merseyside beat! class."

Greetings to you, our kind friends from Ireland. As some of you may be aware, we had intended to visit your fine and verdant home this very winter, in the deep cold heart of December. Unfortunately, due to circumstance, (that surly old bugbear), we will not be able to make it. Do not fear, no need to rend your hair in agony or take to the streets in mournful procession. This is merely a postponement of our inevitable arrival, as foretold by scholars and mystics of old. This band of rough hewn and unknown balladeers from out the concrete wilds of Boise, Idaho will make joyous landfall in the relatively near(ish) future. In the mean time, we will wrap ourselves in blankets and begin recording our new album, to be released this spring. We greatly appreciate all of your support, comments, and interest, and look forward to performing for you soon. Take care and keep your toes warm. Josh/ASD And here, an extra special gift for you. A video of us covering a song by Boise’s biggest musical export, (no, not Josh Ritter, though he is a fellow Idahoan, of whom we’re duly proud), Built to Spill.

New free Herv digital album out now on Cock Rock Disco!
Hi there,
Just a quick note to let you know that I have a new free digital release out now on Cock Rock Disco if you would like to take a listen.
Heres what label owner Jason Forrest / Dj Donna Summer had to say!
Herv: "Not figuratively, but literally in love with Music..."
"Ireland's sexiest laptopper lands his latest mini-album on Cock Rock Disco! "Not figuratively, but literally in love with Music..." is a rave inspired experimental break-acid-core thrill ride of endless ideas and possibilities. Herv packs a lot into the 8 tracks; melodies evolve and twist, beats fracture and congeal and synths collide! It's exciting! But that's not all, it comes with 2 cd designs and a freakin A0 sized poster! Whoa! Can't beat the value in that!"
