Inspired by the invitation for the Jason Schwartz Project to perform at the Granby Memorial High School class of 1997 reunion, Jason Schwartz and Ben Kohn collaborated to form this group. They are joined by Rick Tutunjian on tenor sax and Jason's longtime friend and musical partner Aaron Moon on drums.
Ben Kohn has grown up in the Berkshires surrounded by music. He is an accomplished jazz pianist and also plays the acoustic guitar. With vocals that are both rich and organic, Ben exemplifies the true style of American folk music.
Rick Tutunjian is best known for his work with Reincarnation, a band that he co-leads with Dia Silverstein. He is a formidable composer and a jazz powerhouse.
Aaron Moon recently returned to New England from a few years spent playing with the Sleeptights in Chicago. He comes from a deeply musical family and brings plenty of positive vibes.
Jason Schwartz is a freelance jazz bassist and plays primarily in the Hartford, CT and Western Massachusetts regions.
You guys were great the other night, very original! I loved Long Black Veil & The Shape I'm in. All the vocals were great and J, your bass was awesome!
i am not totally rescinding my comment about what a great name you have...because i was around to hear the names you DIDN'T pick and i do know how much worse it could've been :)
Jason et al - The project sounds incredibly cool... I'm sorry to say that I'll be gigging out of town on the nights of both of your upcoming Cambridge House performances. Too bad - I'd love to check out the band and the brewpub is a favorite haunt of mine!
