BIOGRAPHY
The Where is a hardcore/punk band from Rochester, NY that formed in early 2007. When guitarist, John Kiss and drummer Ward Yourdon were looking to start a parody hardcore band they recruited Stephen Haramis for vocals.
The band started as a complete joke or parody when they first recorded "We Have No Lyrics EP" immediately after the bands conception, and the album did just that, had no real lyrics except whetever they could find to
read off of during the recording sessions. An additional 5 tracks were recorded and attached to the previous EP, this formed the bands first full length album, which is self-titled. The music still had no structure or
real lyrics behind any of the songs.
The band felt they wanted to keep that raw unhinged element to their music and their comedic and insane stage presence would definitely be a must, but wanted to speak their message with real lyrics and music that people
could relate to, the result was: Turn It Up and Rip The Knob Off, the Where's second full length album which is mainly seen as their debut album only because it has actually sold many copies in comparison the first album
which is out of print. The band began to get a little more serious and started booking shows for themselves in the Rochester, NY region. Controversy followed however, they were hated and had a horrible resposne to their music
and just when it seemed that no one liked it and there was no one who would ever like The Where, they played C4: THe Father's House.
That November when The Where played for about 100 kids they began to realize something that had never happened before, people were actually liking their music. It was finally taking hold, after that show the crowd for the most
part would enjoy The Where's performance and play. (With the exception of their school, which still hates them) The Where played everywhere in Pennyslvania and New York in a period of a year including a show with Mensrea (with
members from GWAR). With the band's encouraged spirit they declared a 4 week tour "Rock Out With Your Scissors Out" The tour took them from Binghamton, NY, Southern pennyslvania and back up for a finale show in Brooklyn, NY.
The Where has had the opportunity to witness many different perspectives in the music business from corruption, failure, success, conflict, and great times. With these things the band has matured and with this knowledge continue
to develop spiritually and musically. The Where intends to release a live CD and DVD "Wanted Dead or a Live" as well as the follow up album and well anticipated "Still Noisy After All These Years"
