"I'm an enormous fan of perfectly balanced trios. It doesn't get more balanced than this. If you like alt-Americana rock, you'll be hardpressed to find a better band."
-Tim McMahan of lazy-i.com
Combining forces of two of Omaha's most recognized bands, Matt Whipkey and Anonymous American and Sarah Benck and The Robbers, The Whipkey Three is a juggernaut. In the summer of 2007, songwriter Matt Whipkey was needing a new outlet for the numerous compositions he was creating. Then there was three.
Between Whipkey, Benck and Scott “Zip” Zimmerman , their accomplishments and accolades are nothing less than numerous. With four Omaha Entertainment Awards (Best Rock, Americana, Singer-Songwriter, Adult Contemporary), a pair of national ad campaigns (United Way, YWCA), and countless headling and opening gigs, this band is no novice. However, the resume and support slots (Bright Eyes, Gin Blossoms, Blues Traveler, Dave Alvin, Alejandro Escovedo, Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers) would amount to nothing if this trios music wasn’t half as strong. Balancing melody, aggression, subtlety and power, Whipkey’s songs set a new standard for a city with an already impressive catalog.

Hi all. The link's on Sarah's page are dead. Add, Email, video's, blogs, even the main tool bar to take me "home" doesn't work. Can you all look into that?
Love your sound...can't wait to see you all again.
I Heath Cole, am saying my goodbyes, to the band (THEMOTHERDUDES). It has become clear that my goals, and those of Phill & Randy are no longer the same. I would like to say: the biggest of thanks, to everyone who has been apart of the fun and good times, we have had.
As it stands now I will be moving my two side projects to the front burner (The Dive-Bombers Club) and, my All dance & FUNK band (Freak-in' Rock -A- Potamus). I am still looking for some more people for this ! If you think you might be down for some dance tunes & bank, then come find me at Deitze 3rd floor in the back.
Again, best of luck to, Phill, Randy, & the new dude, whoever you are, it will be great fun (Chips is a blast!) Well in the immortal words of Raymond Douglas Davies:
Here's wishing you the bluest sky, And hoping something better comes tomorrow. Hoping all the verses rhyme, And the very best of choruses to Follow all the doubt and sadness. I know that better things are on the way.
