  • Bio

Formed informally September 2001, the whips played their first show opening for dc alt-country favs Canyon at a benefit where the P.A. literally caught on fire in the middle of the whips set, unable to contain the rock that was coming forth. Since that auspicious moment, the whips have slowly, and steadily plotted the take-over of the dc " hot-rock" community by playing as infrequently as possible, recording very little in the studio(to date only three songs, produced by brian baker and steve hansgan, and engineered by don z. at dc landmark inner ear studios), and offering no merchandise. It's all about the rock, baby. Many of these things may change soon, so get on the train before it leaves your town!! ...... ...... .... ....
