Music
There are now 5 songs about me. I have not heard any of them because I cannot get them in prison. One of them is the profile song on my site here by Julian Rubinstein who also wrote the book about me, Ballad of the Whiskey Robber.
There is also a band called The Whiskey Robbers from Oregon. Another band in Philadelphia called The Disgruntled Sherpa Project wrote a song about me called Attila. There's a guy in Germany, MC Orgelmueller, who wrote a song about me, and then the Hungarian rapper Gangsta Zoli, who was my friend, also wrote a song about me.
I also like gypsy music
Movies
Point Break, Tarzan (one of the few western movies they showed in Transylvania under Ceausescu)
Television
My favorite was the Flintstones. And while I was robbing, I always watched Kriminalis because they were covering my robberies regularly.
Books
I, Claudius (read it four times; the prison library is not very good.)
And I did very much enjoy the book about me, Ballad of the Whiskey Robber
Heroes
Ronnie Biggs of England's Great Train Robbery.

About me: the new youtube video:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=CMHxUqe08cc
My name is Attila Ambrus. I'm now in a maximum security prison in northeast Hungary, a town called Satoraljaujhely. This is the first try for me to communicate with the world wider world on my own (not in an interview.)
Since I've been told that many people are trying to contact me, and there is no way for people to send things to me here, I have agreed to let my contacts put my words up on this page, hopefully as often as possible.
I will also try to answer some of your questions. I know that many people have written to Julian Rubinstein, the author of the book about me (Ballad of the Whiskey Robber) asking questions. I'll try one to start. Someone asked how I've been passing my time lately and believe it or not the answer is pottery. I never knew I'd like it so much. Then again my options are limited. I'm trying to continue on to college correspondence courses as I've now finished high school in here.
Quickly, if you don't know about me: While I was playing professional hockey, I did also rob 29 post offices, travel agencies and banks in Budapest during the 1990s. I plead guilty to all of the charges and was sentenced to 17 years in prison. Some people have called me the "modern day Robin Hood," because of everything that happened. But I don't agree. First of all, I didn't give money to the poor. But I did not hurt anyone either. I was careful about that and still the government tried to charge me with attempted murder. Of course I was found not guilty of that.
My nickname was the Whiskey Robber because I was also seen drinking whiskey before my robberies.
I was also a professional hockey goalie, though my first job with the team was driving the Zamboni (or Rollba, as it is called here.) For several years, I made a living smuggling animal pelts from Transylvania into Austria. I also was a gravedigger and a door-to-door pen salesman....There's much more I'd like to say but my phone time is strictly limited, so will have to fill in more soon....Thank you.
Atilla, Hello from America. Loved the book. You're an exciting person. I haven't seen anything you've written of late. Please post a few thoughts in a blog? I'd love to read what prison life is like.

Hi Attila, I hope life is good for you. Well, as far as it can be given that you're in prison. I have a friend who just arrived in Sofia and will be touring around Bulgaria and Romania. I told her about The Whiskey Robber book and your MySpace page - a little something that might help make her trip even more interesting. Hopefully she has a wonderful trip.
