Some friends were playing Beatlestunes just for fun. Then starting to write their own material... and a band was born.. The WHYz: John Lidström -bass, Kjell Erlandsson -keyboards, Göran Pettersson -guitar and Mikael Norstedt -drums and technician. Kalle Nykvist -guitar has lately only played on our acoustic gigs.
John Lidström
Popmusic and symphonies. Born in Södertälje 1957. From 1974 to 1981 his studies in music theory were supervised by the Polish composer Ziemit Bownik. He studied conducting with Gustaf Sjökvist from 1980 to 1987, counterpoint with Lars-Erik Rosell from 1981 to 1983 and arranging and composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm from 1983 to 1985. In the late 80s Lidström also studied music aesthetics with Bo Wallner.
Lidström works as a church musician, music teacher, music reviewer and lecturer. Lidström has been a member of the Society of Swedish Composers (FST) since 1994.
Göran Pettersson Selftaught musician without ambitions but I get pissed if it doesn't sound right.
It started when I was 12 in the basement at home in Södertälje 1965-66 with Hans Petterson, Anders Gutke, Kenneth Pettersson... and ... Anders and Kenneth formed later Telge blues. Hans and I continued to play some guitar but we were more into art.
Then artschools in Stockholm. I met "Dodo" - Leif Claesson 75? and some years later when he played guitar in "Dom fåglarna" we used to sneak down to his rehearselplace before or after drinking at Clubs. Hans - bass, Dodo - drums and me - guitar, vocal. Our name: Göran Jet and Fettsex (fett=fat)..
...and now I play with a band again The WHYz.

Ni har väl inte missat att Reunion Botkyrka släpper sin dubbel dvd med en stor dvd-release i Tumba Centrum den 30/5. 11:30 drar vi igång. På programmet står visning av dvd-dukumentären från "Årets Musikfest" på Hågelby i augusti 2008. En riktig "Höjdar rulle" som ni kan, för en löjligt billig penning, köpa på plats. Dessutom så kommer vi att för första gången dela ut vårt eget "Reunion Botkyrka Ungomsstipedium" och självklart blir det livemusik

Ni glömmer väl inte bort att sprida bland era vänner att den 23 augusti, mellan 16 - 01, så är det STOR musikfest på Hågelbyparken. 24 akter på två scener!! Javisstja, The WHYz ska ju också spela där..... En massa käk och vuxendricka blir det naturligtvis. Allt detta för 100 spänn i förköp eller 150 spänn i entréen.
Blev förtjust i "folkmusik från tälje"-frasen så jag bytte vår gamla devis "blues från.." mot den. Hojta till om ni vill ha millioner bucks i royalty! :-)
