Hi everyone, It's a barn party! Saturday, October 25th. "Bent Body Busted Beemer Barn Bash Blowout"
This year it will be a benefit party for Larry and Susie Mae Gephart. This has been an especially hard year for the Gepharts. In early July their son Jay was killed in a tragic traffic accident. Then just recently Larry had a bad crash on his old BMW. He is recovering from four fractured vertebrae, three broken ribs, a broken left shoulder blade, a punctured lung and a ruptured spleen. While we can't do anything to speed Larry's healing or lessen their sorrow, we can do something to help ease their worries over financial matters somewhat. I sent an email to all of the musicians in my address book. Within two days I received commitments from over forty musicians from fourteen great bands. There will be music from 3PM till 3AM, several 50/50 drawings, raffles, maybe a silent auction and more. There will be darts, pool, horseshoes and maybe a chipping contest (bring your pitching wedge). There will also be a full time heated jamming tent, so feel free to bring an instrument. The party is BYOB. There will be food there, but bring a passing dish if you can. There is no cover charge, but plan on bringing some money to gamble. Kid friendly until at least 9PM. We're hoping that a lot of people will choose to camp overnight instead of driving home since the party goes until 3AM and the barn is a fer piece from Grand Rapids. We're planning to have breakfast in Lowell on Sunday.
