Born and raised in Dundas, Ontario, the Kiely brothers began playing music at an early age. Fire in the Hole was the name of their first effort, back in the summer of 1998. After this outfit had run its course, Marc and Dan went on to pursue various other interests, notably The Ewok Folk Sessions, a lo-fi musical project, consisting of various members and dozens of home-recorded songs.
In the fall of 2008 The Wind Up Radio Sessions were born. It was at this time that Marc and Dan discovered Matt Lazenby, an English ex-pat musician in Montreal. The brothers approached the man and after many well crafted songs, the trio recorded their collaborative efforts at Little Bullhorn Productions and French Kiss Studios, later being mastered at Grey Market Mastering.
In the wake of their self-titled EP, the group has been in the midst of showcasing their emergent folk pop waves in between Montreal, the Ottawa Valley and Southern Ontario. The Wind Up Radio Sessions are:
Marc Kiely (guitar, vox, keys)
Dan Kiely (drums, guitar, vox)
Matt Lazenby (bass, guitar, vox)
