THE WINGER - Bringing together the global dance community via the internet.
THE WINGER is a community oriented dance website that shows the lives, insights, and personalities of PROFESSIONALS, STUDENTS, EXPERTS and PIONEERS in the dance world.
THE WINGER was created in an effort to help promote and popularize dance by connecting the audience to the artists in a personal and meaningful way. Our hope is that the information shared will educate more people about dance as an artform and as a lifestyle.

"Exclusive backstage photos and the ability to comment
on posts makes for a great interactive experience.
Warning: It’s absolutely addictive."
[Dance Magazine E-Newsletter]
"...tells [the] story of the day-to-day rigor
that goes into being a professional dancer
with wisdom and humor."
[Time Out New York]
The Winger was founded in the Spring of 2005 by Kristin Sloan, a dancer with the New York City Ballet who has a fascination with art and technology.
The Winger logo and site design are executed by Doug Jaeger, Founder and President of thehappycorp global.
We also have a forum, THE WINGER BOARD, where you can ask our contributors questions, and interact with other readers, and...THE WINGER SHOP where you can find Winger t-shirts, sweatshirts etc.
If you voted for us in the first round at Ideablob this month, thank you - we are in the finals! We need to ask you to login one last time to re-vote for us in the finals between now and Dec 31st, as the vote tallies were wiped clean for the 8 competing finalists. If you didn't vote yet, please consider doing so now to help us win $10K to build a new series of free web tools to serve the performing arts. Below is a link to a blurb describing our idea - if you have a context to share this with others, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your consideration and thanks for your support for our work in the past!
