About The Winter Mission

The Winter Mission is an eclectic mix of rock, indie, powerpop, and everything in between. Formed in 2005 under the name Earth Stood Still, the band went through numerous line-up changes, leaving only Wes as the remaining founding member. In April of 2007, The Winter Mission released their second EP, Pretend It's Fiction (recorded by John Harrell of The Sound Barn). Countless shows later, the band's lineup began to deteriorate as several founding members exited. By summer of 2007, the group had solidified a new line-up featuring some of the hardest working individuals in the Greenville scene and had already begun work writing for a new EP. Thank God It's Doomsday, the upcoming EP from The Winter Mission is set to be recorded in December '08 and have 6-8 new tunes with a few surprises. The band will continue to play shows in the North Carolina scene until then so, come to a show and see what The Winter Mission is all about.
