   About The Wireless Stores
The Wireless Stores are a band based in Nottingham, England formed on June 2002. The following year saw the release of TWSs debut mini-album Historic Sites of Scenic Beauty ..1. A soaring mixture of booze-addled country melancholia and the righteous, heart on sleeve ire of classic Minneapolis punk rock, this first record would set the stall for the TWS agenda music for the underside of a bar-room table (where one of the songs actually finds itself), the musical equivalent of drunken introspection, tightrope-walking between euphoria and despair and then back again.

With Historic Sites of Scenic Beauty ..1 under their belts, TWS are now to release a new, full length album entitled Dust Ghosts. Picking up where Historic Sites of Scenic Beauty ..1 left off, this album also represents a musical advance. From the upbeat and driven sounds of the opening track 43 Pence to the lush lilt of the album title track we find ourselves in more elaborate territory than TWS have ventured into previously, with the addition of the new members adding textures of sound that can swell and surge when required or just plain put their foot to the floor. As before, TWS have taken the bleary-eyed wistfulness of American country rock and permeated it with something altogether British loyalty cards, soap suds and shrink-wrapping have never sounded so romantic. An album both of passionate grandeur and whispered mournfulness, it continues the unfaltering commitment of TWS to making eloquent emotional music.

Long may it continue ...

Drowned In Sound.

Bands imbued with both promise and precision in such heady amounts are something of a rarity - keep an eye on them.

Reviews for The Wireless Stores Dust Ghosts LP.

Rocksound 8/10

Endearing, engaging, enduring, exemplary. If you¹re sick of trite feckless nonsense, The Wireless Stores may well be a suitable remedy.

Big Cheese 4/5

Now they've really grown into a rock act that us Brits could be proud of especially if you like earnest heart-on-sleeve rock, TWS don't put a foot wrong.

Kerrang KKKK

The Wireless Stores are so sharp they might cut themselves. Gentle, subtle and far from aggressive, this is music for cold beers on hot days, watching the world go by and finding humour in the weird way it works.

Punktastic 5/5

The Wireless Stores, seamlessly blend a mix of musical styles, great song structures and fantastic lyrics to produce something youll want to listen to time and time again Do yourself, and your music collection, a huge favour and buy this as soon as you can.

New-noise.net by Eddie Robson, (this man also write books on Dr Who).

Dust Ghosts, the debut album from The Wireless Stores, is a mediocre thing indeed. Its alt.country stylings fail to disguise the fact that its basically a watered-down Foo Fighters record, with quite a lot of bad lyrics.

(Anyone wishing to perform at the Acoustical Cafe should either send a CD to:
The Old Library, Leeming St, Mansfield, Notts, NG18 1NG
or call Mark on 01623 644377)
