Woe unto all Mankind, for the evil days have come.
In Ancient Times, The Gods ruled the Earth, and Men were little more than dogs. They grovelled before the Elder Ones, and built their monuments. Millions perished under the cruel oppressors. Then a race of powerful magicians sprang up, and did battle with the Nameless Gods. For a thousand years the Great War raged; the Pillars of Heaven shook, and the Earth was nearly rent asunder. Finally, The combined alliance between Man and Mage was so powerful The Dark Lords were cast down in the abyss, and imprisoned for all eternity. They slumber now, restless and impotent.
As repayment for their freedom, the sons of men turned upon the Race of Wizards and hunted them down to the point of extinction, aided by the cruel traitor, El Diablo.
Finding himself beset on all sides, and possibly the last Wizard left alive, he turned to his only ally, the Moon Spirit Selene. Transporting him to her palace on the moon, she tricked him into ingesting the herb soporforia sempiterna so that he would stay in her arms forever.
And for 6,000 years they slumbered together until a top secret lunar expedition uncovered the ancient palace. Angered at being awoken too soon, The vengeful Selene imprisoned the astronauts in her crystal caverns, while The Wizard excaped undetected.
He has returned to earth to take his revenge upon the Sons of Man.
