THE WOODIES are an old school rock 'n
roll band who pays homage to an era
of rock 'n roll that existed for about a decade-from '67 through '76. The
post-WHITE ALBUM pre-disco era, or as THE WOODIES bassist, Woody, would say,
"The golden age of feedback and distortion." Consisting of Steve Yanek
(vocals, guitar & keyboards), Don "Woody" Farner (bass & attitude), Nick Dellarciprete (drums), Ed "Hammond" Hain (keyboards),
and Vince Romano (lead guitar & vocals).
Other guests, or honarable WOODIES, who have been known to show up from time to
time include Larry Kennedy (guitar & vocals), John Fritchey (guitar), Trent Peechatka (keyboards), and Sean Cestone and Tom
Kristich (drums). Best wishes to former keyboardist Andrew Habich out there in the Steel City!
THE WOODIES are currently in the studio
recording some songs to put on one of those shitty
sounding digital things they call cds that get ripped down to those shitty
sounding computer files they call mp3s. But they're really going to try to make a good album, one that will,
hopefully, be good enough to press out on vinyl. That way you can really
hear what electric guitars were meant to sound like.
Call it blues rock. Call it roots
rock. Call it what you want.
