This is the myspace for the duo formerly known as the Woodlarks. You can still contact either Tanya or Brona, but sadly, they are no longer performing together.
The Woodlarks came from Watford and Warrenpoint. Tanya and Brona first struck a common chord when they heard each other perform at London’s Magpie’s Nest. Having discovered their common passion for folk music, they decided to try a few songs. Together explored a wealth of British and American folk music adding their own subtle twists and tinges to the likes of Buell Kazee’s Railroad Boy and nobody’s Nottamun town. Their finger-picking guitar styles and penchant for harmony were well-matched.
In two years they recorded a live EP and performed at many folk clubs and festivals supporting a diverse range of musicians including Dave Swarbrick, Alasdair Roberts and Walter Strauss. By the summer of 2009 they were really starting to take off with performances ranging from the cosy crazy festivals like Crediton Folk Weekend to the more notable Gosport and Fareham, Paradise Gardens, Leigh Folk Festival and even Glastonbury.
Who knows why, but all good things must come to an end.
Tune in and turn on. Episode 18 features the long awaited return of Ben Folke Thomas, from his hidden island lair to continue his evil plans to take over the world, an interview with, performance by, exclusive album track play, and give away, by noir-folkists 'Juniper Leaf', and many more goodly musical gifts to be bestowed upon you dear listener by the noble Lantern Players.

The Kittiwakes - CD Launch - Clerkenwell 22nd June
Leigh-on-Sea 3-piece, The Kittiwakes, celebrate the release of their Midwich Records debut, ‘Lofoten Calling’, a collection of original folk songs written about the people, landscape, folklore and history of the Lofoten Islands above the Arctic Circle and influenced by the traditional music of Norway and the British Isles.
'The Kittiwakes craft timeless and magical acoustically dappled folk treats - gentle and alluring ostensibly Gaelic in sound texture and gorgeously flighty braided as they are by corteges of mandolins, accordions and violins.' [LOSING TODAY]
'The Kittiwakes (rissa tridactyla): delicious, intriguing and evocative music, beautifully played and sung by this talented trio. Recommended to twitchers and lovers of folk music alike' [LEIGH FOLK FESTIVAL]

Space travel has become a dirty way of life dominated by derelicts, grease monkeys, and hard-boiled interplanetary traders such as Samuel Curtis. Written, directed and starring Cory McAbee of the legendary cult band The Billy Nayer Show, this sci-fi, musical-western uses flinty black and white photography, rugged Lo-Fi sets and the spirit of the final frontier. We follow Curtis on his Homeric journey to provide the all-female planet of Venus with a suitable male, while pursued by an enigmatic killer, Professor Hess. The film features music by the Billy Nayer show and some of the most original rock n' roll scenes ever committed to film.
