The Woodshedders explore the boundaries of traditional acoustic music, and bring forward an array of influences including Swing, Old-Time, Bluegrass, Rhythm & Blues, and especially the Hot Club Jazz of Django Reinhardt. A genuinely charming sound is rendered, and a host of creative songs are delivered forth featuring poetic lyrics, unique vocals and harmonies, and stellar musicianship. The repertoire completes by honoring and evoking the heroes of music past while still defying age and genre.
The Woodshedders consist of Dwayne Brooke (guitar, vocals), Ryan Mayo (upright bass, vocals), Stuart Orser (guitar, vocals), Jesse Schultzaberger (drums, skiffle trap, vocals), and David VanDeventer (fiddle, vocals), with special appearances by Aimee Curl (vocals, upright bass), and Morgan Morrison (vocals).
It seems that Christmas time is here once again, and it is time again to bring in the New Year. We wish the merriest of Christmas to you and your loved ones, and we wish you happiness and prosperity in the year ahead. Yola
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
