About me: The World of Hogwarts is a role-playing group based on the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Our group roleplays in the virtual world of Second Life. Our sole purpose is to provide the players with as accurate an experience as possible while still maintaining cannon (sticking with the books) status. Our stories take place 10 years after the battle of Hogwarts. Kingsley Shacklebot has been named Minister of Magic and most of Voldemort's followers, along with the Dementors, have been tracked down and either imprisoned or destroyed. We have 6 different locations with varying levels of roleplay, from light to heavy. First, there's the castle...Hogwarts; where one can RP as a student or a teacher/staff member. Then there is the outlying village of Hogsmeade, complete with a Three Broomsticks and Honeydukes (coming soon). For those who would prefer to RP as an adult, but do not wish the daunting task of creating lesson plans, we also have the Ministry of Magic located in Downtown London along with a second Irish Ministry based in SL Dublin. In this same area we have The Leaky Cauldron which leads to Diagon Alley, where one can find everything from school uniforms and Quidditch robes to wands, cauldrons, school books, broomsticks and an assortment of other necessities (and, even a few nice-ities)! Finally, we have the village of Godric's Hollow. An almost frighteningly accurate portrayal of the famed village where Harry's parents were murdered and Dumbledore's family are buried. If you love the Harry Potter books, and the world so vividly created by J.K. Rowling, then check out The World of Hogwarts in Second Life! We're always happy to welcome roleplayers both novice and experienced! After all, there's no roleplay without players!
