SHE ROCKS!!
Movies
The Cutting Edge, The Day After Tomorrow ... or any natural disaster movie (I like those!) Grease, Gone With the Wind, Hope Floats, An Unfinished Life, Second Hand Lions, A Seperate Peace, Most horse movies ... I have to say, I am a sucker for these cartoons we take the kids to. Open Season was a riot! Ice Age 2 was so funny I nearly pee'd my pants!
Television
guilty pleasure ... still watch Days of our Lives since age 12. I like that show Rescue Me and Nip / Tuck although I think both shows would be just as good without all the sex and langauge. My Name is Earl, HGTV and the Food Network ... I like Myth Busters on Discovery too. But I do worry 'bout my boys watching it and "trying this at home".
Books
Big Fan of anything Nathaniel Hawthorne ever penned. Enjoy Hemmingway with a glass of wine. Modern day ... I like the guy who wrote the Devinci code but I like his other books better. Enjoy a good John Saul mystery/ thriller and will endulge my female tendencies and give in to a Danielle Steele book now and then. Most recently I've read Dean Koontz's "The Good Guy" and "Rhett Butler's People" both of which I recommend. Other than that, I read horse related press releases and about 250 emails a day.
UPDATE FOR HORSE PEOPLE ... read "The Soul of a Horse" by Benji author creator Joe Camp!! THE best horse book I've read in 15 years bar none! It'll be available on Amazon.com at the end of April!
Heroes
My Dad is my hero ... he knows everything! Other than him ... Maybe my Papa John: he just knew how to treat people. My son Wade ... never lets anyone get the best of him!

About me: About me ... I am 37. It's takin me this long to realize that you have to live for each moment, each day as they come at you. I am all for planning but it doesn't mean that you get lost in that process. Your life in right now ... right this minute. You are the sum total of your experiences and influences to that point and the very next moment could possibly change you forever so it's best to pay attention to that moment.
My husband and children are the most important thing in my life. My hubby is awesome. He's smart and fun to talk to, cool to just hang out with and lots of fun otherwise too. He's a great Dad to our 3 kids. Wade is the oldest and he is uber-smart. Like to smart for his own good smart. He wants to fly jets and attend the AFA. Sylvi is our only girl. She's a beautiful angel with horns peaking thru. She's affectionate and funny. Wyatt is the baby and he is often solemn and pensive. He's also often cantankerous and oenery. But he's a great cuddle bear and is smart and very comical.
I love horses and I publish an equestrian magazine called HorseSouth. I've been doing it for 8 years and am working hard at turning it into a profitable business. I am very creative. I am an award winning journalist, a self taught graphic artist, a sometimes artist, a semi-professional singer (pro is when you get paid to sing - I've been paid some and was part of a band for awhile), I can play the guitar badly, I can play a harmonica passibly, I long to play the fiddle!! I distain laundry!!
I love positive people that feed you energy and light and I pray for those that can only fill you with doubt and sadness. I mostly pray for people that can't find happiness in everyday things and refuse to make positive change that will change their lives. I feel like life is too short and you have only so much time to affect people in the way God intended so you better not spend too much time feeling blue or doubting.
My biggest goal now is to get fit so I can ride my horses well and so that hiking with my family isn't an exercise in how to just get thru without injuring my knees.
Who I'd like to meet: I think I was asked on my college application if I could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be ... I think I was given 3 people. At that time I chose musicain James Taylor, my paternal grandfather that died when my father was 5 and my final choice was Lewis Grizzard. Lewis was a southern writer, a humorist and a modern day philosopher. Today I wouldn't change my list ... but I'd love to add to it. I love people that find wisdom in everyday things.
I love to meet strong, creative, positive people.
So come on !!
