Shamim Sarif has brought to the screen the motion picture adaptation of her critically acclaimed and award winning debut novel, ‘The World Unseen’.
In 1950’s South Africa, apartheid is just beginning. Free-spirited Amina (Sheetal Sheth) has broken all the rules of her own conventional Indian community, and the new apartheid-led government, by running a café with Jacob, her 'colored' business partner. When she meets Miriam (Lisa Ray), a young traditional wife and mother, their unexpected attraction pushes Miriam to question the rules that bind her.
In a system that divides white from black and women from men, what chance is there for an unexpected love to survive?

Redlemon and New Social Voyeurs is taking a stand again! We are very proud to release our brand new pro-love and pro-gay marriage music video for "Fly"! The song features the amazing saxophone of Jay Davidson (who plays with Whitney Houston, Cinderella, Tower of Power, and many others), and the amazing vocals of Charlene Holloway (Chaka Khan and many others), and Sonya Klinger (an up-and-coming wunderkind who hits and holds the amazingly moving high note at the end!).
In a blatant attempt at agitprop mass manipulation, the music video features incredibly cute photographs of cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies, as well as evocative photographs supporting the long-time historical existence of gay marriage from Creative Commons. Some of the historical images point to past instances of church-administered gay marriages and well-known gay married saints. From Redlemon, "Fly (the End of Wars)", on iTunes, and on MySpace under NewSocialVoyeurs.
Thank you for writing this exquisite story, making this excellent movie, and for finding Leonie Casanova. Her song Broken is such a wonderful compliment to this film.
I borrowed this book from the library and it's awesome! The trailer to the movie looks fantastic. I can't wait to see it. And your other film, I Can't Think Straight...well I'm just on pins and needles waiting for that one to come out too! Peace out guys!
Thanks for the add, i am so looking forward for this movie and I Can't Think Straight. Can't wait until it come to DVD, i know it will be a great storyline in both movies.
