About me: Welcome to the MySpace page for theworsthorse.net-- a webzine that looks at how pop-culture, subculture and Buddhism (and/or meditation) do or don't mix.
This can mean many things. Like, say, Buddhism and ____________:
(choose one)
art / photography / sex / advertising / punk rock / heavy metal / hip-hop / surfing / skateboarding / movies / tv / comedy / and on and on.
As our site's "About" page says:
...The meditation teacher Larry Rosenberg says, "We can't all be celibate monks!" So what are we to be?
We're to be what we are: younger people, getting older; city-dwellers; misfits; hip-hop heads; punkers; computer-agers; mountain-climbers; artists; horror-movie buffs; whatever we actually are. Only, working on it, too.
Buddhism emphasizes that there's only NOW. For most of us, our Now, our reality, takes place in a world informed by media, pop-culture, sexuality, and on and on. That's the world where our practice has to happen, if it's gonna. It's do-able.
theworsthorse.net is loaded with constantly updated news and links, plus original content and a dedicated message-board.
Come check us out. Thanks!
We created our profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM highly recommended!
I've been trying to find info on a man called Kobutsu Malone since I saw that he is to be giving a retreat at a Zendo in my area that I have had my doubts about (Blue Mountain Zendo in PA) but haven't found much other than his bio on his page and links for books that he wrote. I thought "Well the horse always seems honest and unafraid of giving their opinion so why not see if they have any thoughts or info." Thanks so much for all of your time and help.
A comment on your 'About' page .. Buddhism theaches that there is no NOW dude. All things are in constant flux, so it's misleading to say there's only now... roll on bro With metta Aryapala
