In 1994 "Lotus Labs" was started (a collaborative recording studio based in downtown Tucson Arizona). Karl White, Jamie Sako, Yuya Suzuki, and Ron Maynard were all partners in the studio. This became a haven for artistically stricken youth whom needed an outlet for their creative ventures. Lotus Labs hosted a series of renegade outdoor parties 10 miles NE of Tucson at Rennington Pass.
Then the live performance collaboration of "X23" and the independent label "Asimetrix Labs" was formed in 1998 by Karl White (Metrognome) and Jamie Sako (Jynx). The original partnership blossomed into a collaborative effort to push the boundaries of electronic music. Current goals of goals of X23 include movie scoring, video game audio, and out of state live performance.
