Like five dimes and ten nickels, Thee Yankee Dollar is comprised of Shana Lehar and Mike Munywoki - good friends (and mix-tape swappers) who met as teenagers. Their idea of forming a band was first seriously discussed in the spring of 2005, during one of their regular phone conversations. It was later that summer, during an outing on a Seattle beach, that the two of them cemented the necessary details of their band-to-be.
They resumed their lives in their respective parts of the country, and reconvened a year later - this time in New York City, ready to record some songs together. Mike caught his return flight back home, finishing touches were applied to the songs, a name was chosen, and the rest is happening now.
