Joining Steve, Chris Mapp (bass) and Miles Levin (drums) will be composer/poet Sid Peacock, who will be reciting alongside the Debop Trio to present the premiere of Tromans' "Bomb - a musical setting of the poem by Gregory Corso", part three of his "Beat Series" five-year project to write musical works based around four of the major works of the Beat Generation. Beat Series started back in 2004 with the work "Howl" (a Birmingham Jazz commission).
This is Steve's first gig back in Birmingham since he left the UK in April 2006. If you have the chance to come along, please do and come and listen to what impact almost three years on the road has had on his playing and composition.
I hope to see you there!
Regards
Steve T
