From his earliest stages he proved to be an efficacious composer and performer. A progeny of the gifted names that are given by family tradition, gave him the privilege to have the name Gexan Alberto Matos Jr. . The prefix "Gex" in each of the male's names in the family means "Lord of". In Junior's case, "Lord of Money". This 18-year-old, native of Caracas, Venezuela says, "maybe it's in my name"-referring to his talent. Eight years ago, at the age of ten, he and his uncle decided to put his writing skills into action. Junior started recording solo straight from his home in Atlanta, Ga. All that prepping made him the music creator he is today. Junior assembles every inch of his productions from scratch. All the accelerated, rhythmic patterns utilized in his instrumentals are just a peek of what creativity is stored in his brain. He says, “I would like to be known to the world more than just a reggaeton artist, because personally I don’t consider myself one, I would like for someday to work with jazz, classical music, rock, and pop; and I am in progress of doing so now. Also I don’t want to consider my self JUST a pop artist, or a hip-hop [RnB] artist, I want to be able to consider my self a universal minded artist now that I feel capable of working, composing, and singing to all sorts of music and genres. I feel that sometimes to evolve in music the same way we all evolve in life as human beings we should change up the same old routine and try thinking outside the box, change can sometimes be healthy.” All the inspired topics rehearsed in his singles from different sorts of genres, all come from the very depth of his heart; what he feels will make the song a hit. An incredible personality that is as enjoyable as listening to his music translates how he acts on a regular basis. He hopes that his personality and originality will shoot him up to where he has dreamed to be since as long as he can remember. It comes natural to him. This young boy has many opportunities waiting for him at the end of the road. -Maybe it is in his name.
