"A band on the verge of huge success." Chris Payne, Q101 (WKQX)
The Year After is a radio-anthem rock band from Chicago that is selling out venues in their hometown in support of their latest release "The Way To Get Around It." Described as mixing the huge choruses of artists like Our Lady Peace and Third Eye Blind with the epic balladry of Coldplay, The Year After is a band that has an inescapable charisma and a timeless, far-reaching appeal.
Several tracks from “The Way To Get Around It” are breaking through to national audiences. Four songs were recently featured on the MTV television shows "Engaged and Underage" and "Band In A Bubble" and other songs have been licensed for videos on Break.com, reaching over 750,000 viewers.
The band was also featured on MTVu, reaching college campuses across the country, and the songs "Bullets To The Floor" and "Everything Is Against Us" have been spun on several major Chicago radio stations including Pure Rock 89.1 (WONC) and flagship alternative rock station Q101 (WKQX).
In addition to MTV soundtracks and rotation on Chicago radio, The Year After has performed showcases for ASCAP and MOBfest and has opened for national acts at the Double Door and House of Blues. Recently, the band was interviewed by Moda Fashion Gazette, was profiled in the MTVu newsletter "The Procrastinator," and was nominated by MTVu as one of the top 15 best college bands in the country.

I had a WONDERFUL time at the show last night and am very happy I made it out despite throbbing toothaches and a horrible headache. I love you all, and I hope I get to see you all around (besides Jerry in MIH)! I took tons of pictures and a LOT of video clips that have all been blogged. I will miss you guys SO much!!
totally wish i could be at the show, but can't make it out of new york for a while yet. wanted to say all the best though! good luck with all other pursuits!
Really sucks to hear, boys. You had what most bands only aspire to. Loved the tunes. You guys ever want to work together on something, let us know! Rock on!

Friday night's show was the most fun I've EVER had at the Beat Kitchen to date. You guys were AMAZING (I dig the new stuff), and again, thank you SO SO SO much for getting my guys (DiS) on the bill last minute! I love you all - can't wait until your next show!
So seeing you tonight was pretty much a very WONDERFUL surprise! I loved chatting it up with all of you...a lot. Well, I'm sick of Jerry (haha jk) but finally seeing the rest of you was amazing. I will be sure to see "Superbad" before the 25th since Steve's and Grant's mouths fell to the floor when I said I hadn't seen it haha.
