DON'T EVER VOTE FOR US!!
Trying to live up to the standards set by the good old days of sheffield music, its been a major uphill struggle for this group of shambolic shamsters. they have overcome your wet noise free nextdoor neighbours, horrible playground beatings and the taunts of wicked schoolgirls...they're laughable, they're live, they're legless...........ladies and gentlemen..i give you THE YELL!
whatever.
The Yell just don't work as a group aesthetically or musically. The 6 members look like they were forged together at a jumble sale, such is their detachment and lack of plausible relationship to each other. The vocalist appears to be an odd fellow too. Small, big hair with Jarvis Cocker mannerisms but not an inch of the class to deliver the style convincingly. Very poor overall. [4/10] Luke Ramsden
I hope that all is well with you! I wanted to stop by and let you know about a few new things at Ourstage. We have just introduced a new French channel! It is for songs performed in French! Also, we are now accepting entries for performance in the One Planet Music Festival as well as the John Lennon Song Contest. For more information, go here: www. ourstage. com/go/tim
Just thought I'd let you know about a gig we're doing which might (sniff) be our last. For a number of reasons we're calling it a day after October, at least for a while.
So this is going to be pretty special.
We've got the big Live Room at Plug in Sheffield for the night, and pressganged almost everybody who has ever played with us over the years to join us for an Uber-Gig of Justice.
We're playing from 8 till 10:30 with a bit of a break in the middle. Then we've got the Earth Bar for more dancing and a nice chilled out after-party till 3.
It's £6 in advance from Plug Box Office on rockingham Gate (tel 0114 2413040), Jack's Records on Division Street and online at http://www. the-plug. com/tickets. And this one’s open to anyone over 14 too!
We're going to blast through into a better, oranger dimension. Please join us.
