Harvey and Robert Mackintosh Present… The Young Gods of Comedy at London’s prestigious Shaftesbury Theatre. Starring Kojo, Paul Chowdhry and America’s hottest new stand-up comedian Will E Robo; featuring Tim Westwood (DJ) and Harvey (Host/Compere). Always relegated to the suburbs of London’s theatre-land, black British comedy is finally getting its place centre stage at London’s West End Shaftesbury Theatre. The show is being presented by Harvey (most famous as part of the chart topping act So Solid Crew) and by producer Robert Mackintosh (shows include world premiere of Evita In Concert, Les Miserables in Concert & the recent Hit Musical Daddy Cool). The two met when Harvey starred in Daddy Cool last year and together decided it was time to bring a Stand-Up show, showcasing the talents of three of the best upcoming black comedians to the stage of a West End London theatre. Kojo, London’s most well connected comedian, had his sell-out one man show 'The Fresh Prince of Hackney’ screened on MTV Base as a result of its success. Kojo is fast becoming one of the biggest talents to emerge from the black comedy circuit and has for the third time received "Best Male Comedian" award at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards. In the past few years, Paul Chowdhry has distinguished himself as one of the most prominent and popular Asian comedians of today. Constantly challenging and relentlessly inventive, his dry observational humour taps into the multi-cultural diversity of contemporary Britain. Will E Robo is over from the USA for this event. A fresh talent who is keen to make his name with the UK audience and not afraid to jump in feet first. He is known in the states for working on projects such as P. Diddy's Bad Boyz of Comedy, BET Comic View, HBO Def Comedy Jam, and Showtime at the Apollo. Radio 1 and MTV’s award winning DJ extraordinaire Tim Westwood will assist the show as DJ and musical director for the proceedings….and Harvey will head things up as Host. Harvey said about the production “It’s about time black comedy got a front row seat in a prime West End venue. I’m very excited about what this means and that Robert Mackintosh has supported me in making this happen.”
