Skip loves and addicted to Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Blue Grass, R&B, Rockabilly, Country, rock n roll etc. also interested in Indian classic music too. And prefer to listen to all those artists that have a blend of these musical flavors. Usually love to listen all the classic acts from artists like BB King, Albert King, Freddie King, Skip James, Clapton, Hendrix, SRV, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Band, The Doors, The Zombies, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers Band. Van Morrison etc.
Skip was born on 15th January 1984 as Saqib Abdullah in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to a middle class Pakistani family, and he is the 3rd & the youngest among his brothers. He gets his early schooling from famous Pakistani school ‘S.A.I.School (Pak section)’ formerly known as Pakistani community High school at Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. His unique musical taste and artistic feelings was developed with the influences of his elder brothers, who were totally into Blues, Jazz, country, R&B’s, soul music. In 1996 he shifted to karachi with his family, and then admitted to Federal Government Public School, Karachi. His first guitar couldn’t live long and was smashed into pieces by his mother. Second guitar lived a little longer but due to his reckless behaviour and failing in matriculation exams was again smashed into pieces but this time by his angry father. But his passion for music doesn’t fade, and he has to wait for another one year to buy the new one, but this time hiding his guitar under his bed or behind the closet. Bunking classes from school/college and practicing all day long making his own tunes melodies and songs. He began to devote several hours a day to playing guitar, which affected his studies badly. Eventually, he gave up his studies. From the beginning Skip had faced quite number of problems banding up with his friends because nobody stays with him either due to his studies/social life or personal differences in musical listenings, genre’s, inspirations, influences, ideology and song’s concepts. Lack of financial & other resources Skip faces many problems, which became hurdles to his career’s initial years. Within few years of hardship in the music world in Pakistan he befriended with some of the veteran and music gurus, who helped him in different projects and performances, At present Umair Ghouri is the second member of Zeest.
