We're York's only indoor skatepark, THE ZOO.

We have a full range of sessions through the week catering for Skaters, BMXers, scooters and Bladers, plus private bookings are available for birthdays etc. We're open to anyone aged 11-25 and are run by York Young Peoples Services, so all our staff are police checked and are Youth Workers, here to support Zoo users wherever we can..

The Zoo Skatepark was set up in 2001 and since this time the park has developed drastically, the park itself is pretty small but has all the lines you will ever need. There is the main section inside with funboxes/variety of Quarter pipes/vert walls/rails/ledges/flatbars/hip/flatbank. Then there is the outside area which at the moment consists of a micro mini/ledges of different heights/curved ledges/flat ground.

We have a cabin which is all eco-friendly with a wood burning stove/composting toilet/solar panels and an area where we grow flowers which attract bees and butterflies in summer. Also in the cabin we have a PC with free internet access/TV/DVD/Xbox 360/DJ equipment.

The Zoo Skatepark is run by the York Young Peoples Sevices so as well as skating we hold different workshops outside of the core skating hours i.e. graffiti workshops/DJ Workshops/Video Editing Sessions/Drug workshops. We have information availble for young people on many different issues and, as youth workers, we're here to help when you need some support!
