The house lights dim, the curtain parts, and THE ZOU appears center stage…

Emerging from Youngstown, Ohio; Nouveau Rock band THE ZOU has been a prominent and influential voice as a recording and touring act all over North America. The band has performed over 300 shows in such respected venues as:

The Bitter End and The Hard Rock Cafe - New York, NY
Crane’s Tavern - Hollywood, CA
Tasty World - Athens, GA
The House of Blues - Cleveland, OH
The Monte Vista Hotel - Flagstaff, AZ
The New World Brewery - Tampa, FL
Herman’s Hideaway - Denver, CO
Le Swimming - Montreal, QC
The Exit/In - Nashville, TN

THE ZOU has already completed two successful tours in 2008. In January, the band journeyed for two weeks on “The PineBox E.P Tour” that took them as far west as Los Angeles, CA. They ventured out again in March on their “Spring Tour” which took them to college campuses throughout the south hitting cities like Athens, GA; Chapel Hill, NC; & Tampa, FL.

THE ZOU draws from an eclectic source of influences. National reviewers have drawn comparisons to The Who, Jesus Christ Superstar, Tom Waits, Murder by Death, & Modest Mouse. Their latest five song release, THE PINEBOX EP features well crafted songs from soul-pop anthems like "LMNOP", to more avant-garde, thought provoking tunes like the title track, and "Nothing Beats a Hanging". From the first chord struck, THE ZOU does more than entertain - they exude an amiable "artsyness". They harmonize over crackling 60's tube amps, vintage keyboards, smooth McCartnian bass lines, and catchy, primitive drum breaks.

The music is intelligent, well crafted, electrifying rock & roll. …the crowd is on their feet. and the show is just beginning

- Katie Libecco (Valley24.com)

(waiting for a tow truck version)
On the way to record at RCA Studios in Nashville our van got a flat tire in Camelsburg, Kentucky. We decided to kill time waiting for our "Triple A" tow truck to arrive by creating a Video for your viewing pleasure. We had to use the AC adapter converter in the van's cigarette lighter to power up the bass amp. (still can't believe that worked...) and oh, yeah. It was at sunrise and we hadn't slept in quite some time.

It's a great bass, I've had it for years. Its the only bass I've ever owned. Unfortunately the sound system left something to be desired.

Question:

How come I'm always at least a little intoxicated for your shows?

To contrast, I'm rediculously sober for every Third Class show I can ever recall. Rediculously.

I mean, seriously, it's re-dick-less.

I can't wait until your new album leaks.

Oh wait, it won't likely do that until I leak it myself.

Any way I can get an early copy so as to support pirates?

Arrr.r.r.R!@>

I'll toss a few american dollars your way for the tunes, a few for the cause, and a few for the fuck-all of it.

srsly.

or, maybe, i'll simply provide the sunglasses for your next show. that'd still cost me a bit of cash! this is assuming i'm still selling shoes.

i really need to get a move on writing my way out of jams. for cold hard cash and good feelings.

hi.

ps: nothing! noth-ing! no-thing! BEATS A LEAKING!
