QUOTABLES FROM TIME OUT NY
"The best rock band of the '90s"
"Th' Faith Healers were fun like your first roller-coaster ride, no matter how many times you were lucky enough to catch them."
HAVE FAITH-CRITIC'S NOTEBOOK-THE NEW YORKER
In 1991, a band from Hampstead, England called Th' Faith Healers played at
CBGB's. The band was worrying away at one chord, and the music was so
narcotically loud that it felt a little hard to see anything, except for
the band's singer, Roxanne Stephen, who put her head down and shook her
very long hair in front of her, both hiding her and making her the center
of attention. Their songs drew inspiration from older German bands who
played the same thing over and over - Can and Neu! - but their sound was
not far from the enormous guitar wash of their contemporaries My Bloody
Valentine. Th' Faith Healers approached repetition with the faith of a
minimalist like Steve Reich, and their music approached the transcendence
rock fans like to think they're getting more often than they really do.
The band existed for less than five years and didn't build a big enough
audience to sustain them, but nobody put on a better loud rock show in the
early nineties. This spring, Th' Faith Healers have reunited for a brief
tour, and there is every reason to expect that they can still find an
entire world in one loud, long chord.~Sasha Frere-Jones
REVIEWS FROM BA DA BING PAGES Th' Faith Healers: The Peel Sessions of Th' Faith Healers has continually been getting great reviews, Alternative Press gave the album a five out of five and said 'anything this amazing is always met with dumb looks and indifference.'
Angry Ape says, 'This album is essential, proving that there are great things out there if you're prepared to give something a chance, go out on a limb and look beyond what's presented to you in the mainstream media.'
But don't blame the mainstream media, please, as they're busy with White House leaks and all I'm perfectly happy to have Angry Ape covering things instead.

The brief excerpt below is borrowed from Horst Prillinger's site that he put together a looooooooong time ago. He is probably their number one fan. His site is the most comprehensive TFH site on the web. Almost 10 years ago I signed the guest list on his fan page and he actually mailed me a cassette of their music that I couldn't find (L') here in the states. I like to think that I am their number two fan and when they want the keys to this page to do their own thing, I will gladly and willingly hand them over. I only wish for more people to hear their beautiful sound, let them know about their upcoming shows and perhaps help them sell a few more records. Tom's guitar is truly one of a kind and Roxanne's voice... unstoppable! When I saw they would be playing SXSW, I had goosebumps for at least ten minutes...
"This site is dedicated to the memory of Th' Faith Healers, the first band on the London-based label Too Pure. They recorded a couple of EPs and two LPs between 1990 and 1993, and although their singles reached the UK Indie Top Twenty, their success might best be described as "moderate" - which I personally can't understand - surely everyone who hears them must notice their utter brilliance.
They disbanded in 1994 after a tour to the States. Roxanne wanted to return to art college, Joe to his photographic studio, while Ben returned to his job as a tree surgeon and Tom formed a new band called Quickspace.
In early 2006, th' Healers regrouped for a number of concerts in Berlin, the USA and London. There are no immediate plans to record new material."

I was listening to L' and then Mr Litnansky in my iPod this morning while going to work. Such a great band, I missed you live, you were coming to France for a concert, I had my tickets, and at the last minute we were told the concert was cancelled.
You really have to go back in studio, to apologize and make me a happy man. Please.
