About me:
In 1982 he founded Plum Village Buddhist Center, a meditation community in the Dordogne in the south of France. As of 2005 he heads a monastic community and the lay group, the Order of Interbeing, teaching the Five and Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings and "Engaged Buddhism". Thich Nhat Hanh and the Order of Interbeing have also established monasteries and Dharma centers in the United States at Deer Park Monastery in Escondido, California, Maple Forest Monastery and Green Mountain Dharma Center both in Vermont. Addionally, there are numerous local sanghas of the Community of Mindful Living around the world where laypersons meet for meditation, Dharma discussions and Days of Mindfulness.
Thich Nhat Hanh is a Buddhist monk, poet, peace activist, and the author of Being Peace, The Miracle of Mindfulness, and many other books. He lives in a monastic community in southwestern France called Plum Village, where he teaches, writes, gardens, and works to help refugees worldwide. He conducts retreats throughout the world on the art of mindful living, and has conducted special retreats for American Vietnam War veterans, psychotherapists, artists, environmental activists and children.

"Stress is thinking of what you have to do next, and not being aware of what you are doing right now. This is the only moment you need to get right. Take care of the present moment, and the next moment will naturally take care of itself. So, no worries, relax, life is right here, right now - one moment at a time."
The greatest achievement is selflessness. The greatest worth is self-mastery. The greatest quality is seeking to serve others. The greatest precept is continual awareness. The greatest medicine is the emptiness of everything. The greatest action is not conforming with the worlds ways. The greatest magic is transmuting the passions. The greatest generosity is non-attachment. The greatest goodness is a peaceful mind. The greatest patience is humility. The greatest effort is not concerned with results. The greatest meditation is a mind that lets go. The greatest wisdom is seeing through appearances. Atisha
This existance of ours is as transient as autumn clouds. To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance. A lifetime is like a flash of lightning in the sky. Rushing by, like a torrent down a steep mountain.

"All the peace and happiness of the whole globe, the peace and happiness of societies, the peace and happiness of family, the peace and happiness in the individual persons' life, and the peace and happiness of even the animals and so forth, all depends on having loving kindness toward each other." Lama Zopa Rinpoche

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect. ~Chief Seattle, 1855
I'm not an environmentalist. I'm an Earth warrior. ~Darryl Cherney
There is hope if people will begin to awaken that spiritual part of themselves, that heartfelt knowledge that we are caretakers of this planet. ~Brooke Medicine Eagle
And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything. ~William Shakespeare
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money. ~Cree Indian Proverb
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir
I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in. ~John Muir, 1913, John of the Mountains: The Unpublished Journals of John Muir, 1938
I belief in artgeneering...the artist is only a medium, connected to the spirits around him-translating vibes into symbolic shapes to reinitialize the ancient wayof using language... the way of light and color... without the disguise of words, right through the passage of our eyes... to reach hearts and souls without taking the intelectual loop way... natural formulas in an unnatural world...pure and uncensored... awakening the visiual awareness, the centre of our inner universe... to let it shine in the way it has allways been before these annoying times, that keep us away from our natural mission... to stay connected with our great mother earth and her deep spirit of freedom and peace... we have to regain our nearly lost nativeness, to stop this wheel of opression and iniquity that haunts our world and our hearts...it's time for the rainbow warriors :-)

“An analogy for bodhichitta is the rawness of a broken heart. Sometimes this broken heart gives birth to anxiety and panic, sometimes to anger, resentment, and blame. But under the hardness of that armor there is the tenderness of genuine sadness. This is our link with all those who have ever loved. This genuine heart of sadness can teach us great compassion. It can humble us when we’re arrogant and soften us when we are unkind. It awakens us when we prefer to sleep and pierces through our indifference. This continual ache of the heart is a blessing that when accepted fully can be shared with all. ”
~Pema Chodron~
I hope you are doing well...
Sharing love and hugs,Take care, Barbara
"The more we train to see ourselves as such a meditational deity,
the less bound we will feel by life's ordinary disappointments and frustrations.
This divine self-visualisation empowers us to take control of our life
and create for ourselves a pure environment
in which our deepest nature can be expressed. "
Lama Yeshe
