Performing lively shows filled with original material in the vein of their influences; various roots music ranging from Americana, blues, classic jazz, motown, swing, folk, and bluegrass. The shows themselves are unique, filled with medley's and instrumental seques to keep everyone entertained and the music flowing. THICK SOUP's stage show has earned them a following and also gotten them a chance to open for some fine other acts such as: THE DEVIL MAKES THREE, THE MOTHER TRUCKERS, CAM PENNER, RYAN SHUPE & THE RUBBER BAND, THE EARL BROTHERS and ROSANNE CASH..... ..Thick Soup released their first self titled album featuring all original material in 2008. It was recorded in Sonora, CA at Coyote Hill Recording Studios with sound engineer Richard Shoeler (who also performs in Coyote Hill). The CD was officially released on May 31, 2008 at the Jack Douglass Saloon in Columbia State Park..... .... .. .............. .............. ...... .. ..One year later after the release of "Thick Soup", Thick Soup released their second full length album "Mourningwould" which was also recorded at Coyote Hill Recording Studios. With the release of their second album Thick Soup formed their own independent record label, monkey belt records, which was responsible for producing their third release "O.B. Joyful" (2010). Although Thick Soup has kept a busy tour schedule they have found the time to release three full length studio albums since 2008. With the help of Coyote Hill Recording Studio in Sonora, CA Thick Soup produced their first two albums "Thick Soup" and "Mourningwould". In 2010 Thick Soup produced their third album "O.B. Joyful" under monkey belt records. Each album features original material written by Brian and Ian.
