thieff are one of those bands you can't pigeon_hole/
they simply make a _mockery of uniformity_ through their
sheer diversity of styles/
it's a quality birthed from their individuality
and the combined understanding that the _music is king_/
a refusal to be bound by any one genre/
of course_ they're not the first band to diversifytheirsound/
but they are one of the few to make it work/

Lusby writes and sings about love and life
with a delicate and unique turn of phrase_
you imagine _if left to his own devices
the music would be _soft and rounded_/
however_ his rhythm section has other ideas
and will often caress the music gently only for a while
before driving it home
(see the rousing finale of _A Little Closer_ as evidence)

_Drama Queen_ shows the band at their experimental best_
a pounding_ epic_ rollercoaster with a defiantmessage/
and there's no better way to sample thieff's diversity
than flicking between the crunching guitars of _Weakness_
and the heart_breaking sincerity of _Unchanged_

_whatever the sound_ you can be guaranteed
thieff always fuse it with two ingredients :melody and rhythm
