Hi All ,
I've started to play the Guitar by age 12 , ' took a few classical lessons but it seemed like i didn't fit in . I enjoyed learning the basics of Blues and Rock with a private teacher and got into my first band at college. We quickly had "big" gigs
but weren't prepared , we just sucked pretty bad actually ... lol .
I then played and gigged with local rock and Blues bands until i had the opportunity to attend "Bercklee College" in Boston . (Thanks to my Father who was a great man and sadly passed away in year 2000)
I worked pretty hard and been put on "dean's list" for winter'84 semester.
I had to go back to Paris for personal reasons and was fortunate enough to got time to absorb what i've been taught and "pass it " through the guitar . (It took me a long time) I began to work as a session guitarist now and then and had a few bands gigging in Paris and it's subburbs. At the same time i got interests in doing my own Music on DAW and got some music to do for videos and TV , I've done a dozen projects or so for " La Cité des Sciences".
That's in 1993 that i moved to Sydney Australia and had such a great time !
It might have been too easy because i "blew" some nice opportunities over there :( Anyway i needed hollydays and had great ones )
Back to France in 1994 at age 30 was a real pain ... 'took me a while to be back on the saddle . New bands and gigs ... and teaching Guitar on a regular basis . I always got spare time for doing my own stuff and arrangements for some people .
Thanks for reading my words .
It feels great to share on my Space.
Cheers,
Thierry.
relax.. vraiment heureux de te retrouver, toi et ta musique, soft et sensible. On se vient un de ces jours j'espère. Toujours ton regard d'aigle.. a bientôt Lp
Hi Thierry I stopped by to listen to your new tune, "A Reason For August", and listened to "Epiphone Swing" as well. What a killer jazz tone on that one my friend - pure jazz felling and sound - congrats! Thanks for keeping in touch, Rick
Hello Thierry I'm sorry I have not been in touch for so long - I've been battling a neck injury and have been playing very little and myspacing even less. I wish you the best living in the south of France (you are officially OFF my worry list!)and hope you come to Nashville soon so we can pick together. Be well, Rick
Masterful playing my talented friend! I admire your versatility.
I absolutely adored, “Epiphone Swing”. Lush chords, lovely liquid feel, and SWEET tone. Smooth sound! I can almost smell the smoke and see the haze of the blue neon. Classy…
I’m pleased to make your acquaintance, Thierry. ~phyllis
