Plasticien de formation, Thierry Weyd est aussi éditeur (éditions cactus), diplomate (ambassadeur en France des Royaumes d'Elgaland-Vargaland) et enseignant. Ses dispositifs de concerts audiovisuels explorent l'imagerie populaire et les systèmes de narration par une utilisation récurrente de fragments d'images publicitaires, de bribes de récits et de rengaines musicales. Objets banals, figurines et accessoires étranges constituent le paysage miniature de son théâtre des opérations, espace intimiste où des expériences brinquebalantes de physique amusante et une utilisation des procédés d'illusionnisme désuets se conjuguent pour donner lieu à des projections d'images et de sons manipulés.
Thierry Weyd is not only artist, he is a music, poetry and fine-art
producer, and the French ambassador of the Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland.
He is presently teaching in the fine-art school and university of Caen in
Normandy. His performance work is an exploration of popular culture and the
spoken word expressed through the media of publicity, small tales and
musical refrain. Banality, toys and strange accessories make the miniature
landscape of his "theatre des operations", a close space where shaky
physical experimentation and illusionist effects are combined to make
pictures and sound projections.
