Bio:

think13 is a San Francisco based Alternative Rock band. Depending on the venue and circumstances, think13 can perform an acoustic show or a fully plugged in experience. When appropriate, their performance is fused with their intricate stage production ‘Balance’; featuring modern dancers, fire dancers, actors, aerial performances and visual projection.

think13 has performed in venues and at events around the San Francisco area, including shows at Black and White Ball 08 (headliner was Grammy Winner, Seal), Xenodrome, M.A.P.P, Cowell Theatre, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Ireland’s 32, Rockit Room, and also sang the National Anthem at the Giants VS St. Louis Cardinals game in April 07. think13 received a Proclamation of Honor from Mayor Gavin Newsom declaring October 27th 2007 “think13 Day” in the city of San Francisco.

Lead singer and Manager, Dee Kennedy, is the Co-Founder of Youth Performance Education project, VAGABOOM! ; a non-profit focused on teaching Youth a variety of performance skills, which promote non-violence, self-discipline and confidence, as they express themselves through music, art, circus arts, acrobatics and theatre performance. VAGABOOM! received a certificate of honor for their contribution to the community through arts education from Mayor Newsom’s office in San Francisco in August 2008.

think13's musical theatrical show blends ancient and modern, metaphysical and mythological, angelic and erotic, light and dark, to create “Balance”. 'Balance' is set in the realm of the 'Dream World'..... anything can happen! Through original music fused with physical theatre, choreographed performances of fire dancing, aerial acrobatics, modern dance, story-telling, mesmerizing visual projections, story-telling, instrument design (Forrest’s street drums), detailed costume and body painting, Balance constructs a carefully crafted vision that is both reflective and evocative, taking you on a trip into your Known Unknown.
HISTORY
The group self-produced two Episodes that were recorded at The Plant Studios in Sausalito, CA. They worked with highly acclaimed drummer Prairie Prince from The Tubes,, and also Grammy- Nominated San Francisco String Quartet playing the string arrangements.... these Episode's are ones not to miss! Each episode consists of five to six songs lasting approximately 25 minutes and has a theme that is hinted at by the musical style, lyrics and artwork. They are embarking on a 13part Episodic adventure, giving them the advantage of utilizing their incredibly diverse musical backgrounds and work with many different producers and artists.
Episode One deals with “luck” in both the lucky and unlucky senses of the word. The music and art is earthy and spiritual. Episode Two is about “breaking through” and is heavier and rock-driven.. Episode One is now available on



Thoughts create your reality, therefore to 'think' is the greatest talent you have, so to think13 simply means that we are all connected, All as One and One is All we are.

Influences:

Dee 's influences............hmm, where do I begin? Madonna was the first major influence on me when I was a young one, I used to dress up as her all the time and sang "Like a Virgin" when I was about 6 in school......the Callan Sisters of Mercy (the nuns) were thrilled with that!!! The early years of my teenage life were the introduction to the music that influenced me greatly and shaped my ear forever.......THE DOORS, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, FAITH NO MORE (MIKE PATTON....MY HERO!), Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Jeff Buckley, Tori Amos, Kate Bush, the ever evolving Madonna, Soundgarden, Bijork, Korn, The Deftones, Gwen Stefani, Bob Marley, Rage Against the Machine, Bob Dylan, even Michael Jackson, And cannot forget the amazing poet Tupac and the talented Jurassic 5, ....also I studied classical piano and music for 13 years so some of the numerous Classical composers that left an imprint on my mind are Vivaldi, Chopin, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mozart, Beethoven and also AMAZING Irish musicians like Michael McGoldrich, Sinead O Connor, Christy Moore, Thin Lizzy, U2, Therapy, The Pogues, Kerbdog... from my hometown...great moshes back in the day! and The Corrs......to name a few! Oh yeah.....Dance music.....Break beats, progresive house and hip hop in all their wonderful forms......just gimme a good DJ who loves what he's doin and Im in!
