Client: Schieffelin & Sommerset

Product/Service: Hennessey V.S.O.P. Cognac

Target Market: Creative, free-spirited upwardly mobile young black professionals aged 21-36.

Charge: Secure brand recognition of Hennessy V.S.O.P. Cognac in a multi-day festival environment that prohibited the dispensing of alcohol. A family-friendly, publicly staged event. To produce a memorable “liquor without spirits promotion”.

Methodology/Execution: Promote Hennessey V.S.O.P at the Memorial Day/Umoja Festival/Black Beach Week via a live, accomplished urban/graffiti artist. The nationally celebrated artist Jona Cerwinske (his mother a globally recognized art historian and grandfather creator of Betty Boop) attracted and engaged the crowd (all ages) by interpreting the Hennessy V.S.O.P. vibe (music/urban platform) complete with the creation of several large format murals on canvas and several fine-detailed bottles. Created an art “camp” by elevating artist in slick, velvet stantioned “Hennessey V.S.O.P. Art Lounge”. Utilized 50+ modern (and durable) vinyl bean bags for seating. Systematically dispensed Hennessey V.S.O.P. branded collateral and premiums throughout event nationally celebrated DJ performed adjacent to artist “live painting”. Client retained a collection of 4 commissioned artworks for corporate collection valued at $500 to $2700 per. Collectible bottles then presented in ceremony to local notables including the Mayor, Commission, Police Chief, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell (the festival founder) and other local and national notables. Recruited, trained and employed intelligent, spirited young adults clad in summer-weight, branded product uniforms systematically distributing flyers, premiums, and t-shirts resulting in record turnout and media attention.

Results: A resoundingly positive response from media, client, consumers, (skeptical) city officials and the 100,000+ festival attendees and participants. Because of the ultra hip and cool approach to our promotion and its’ staging, our clients environment was immediately adopted as the “press” meeting place and used to address/interview the press and notables in attendance. Major consumer, on-camera and print impressions. To our credit, our concept and premise was adopted by corporate and used as the basis of this successful national, urban marketing platform. Heralded as one of the most ingenious liquor promotions as not one drop of liquor was dispensed.




Clients: Proctor and Gamble/Vacation Connections

Product/Service: Promotion of Spring Break “Survival Kit”

Charge: Distribute and gain invaluable consumer brand recognition for premium-brand, luxury sample packages to impressionable, collegiate co-eds in the most competitive spring break locale in the nation. South Beach, Miami Beach, Florida.

Target Market: Male and female, urban, latino and general market, age range 18-23.

Methodology/Execution: Recruit, train and direct multi-age, multi-cultural young adults to approach and engage collegiate-aged “Spring Breakers” to experience various established and pilot product samples.

Results: thinkking media, inc. was responsible for successfully placing 2 million various samples in every hotel on South Beach over a 3-week period. Billed as the most memorable consumer product promotion on South Beach. Distributed and gained physical, virtual and consumer based brand recognition for vital brands at a nominal overall cost with quantifiable results.
