THE ISSUE

The United Nations warns us that by 2025, TWO-THIRDS of the world’s population – more than FIVE BILLION of us – will lack access to water. Now, in the face of this crisis corporations are seeking to gain control by turning water into a profit-driven commodity.

One of the most visible examples of corporate control of water is bottled water. It is the fastest growing sector of the US beverage market and just three corporations – Coke, Pepsi and Nestlé – make up over half of the US bottled water market. These corporations are privatizing our water, bottling it and selling it back to us at prices hundreds, even thousands of times what tap water costs. They have turned a shared common resource into a $100 billion global market – and one of the world’s fastest growing branded beverages.

    thanks so much for wanting to be my friend!!! us dolphins cant stand up for ourselves so its great meeting people who want to help support us!!

    did you know dolphins face some pretty scary things out here in the sea? like drift nets, toxic fishies, dirty oceans, capture for parks, slaughter for meat, sonar testing, and even being skinned alive by fishermen for bait?!
