Thinktank members are anyone who is active and vocal on this myspace or if being social online isn't your deal, contact members offline and get involved with events.
You do not have to complete an initiation ritual or be hazed. Simply participate in a discussion - or not-so-simply organize an event, and you can consider yourself a member of Thinktank.
Though we claim no leaders there of course are members of the community who hold benevolent dictatorships, (which in anarchist action means these are the people who get shit done and are generally trusted by the other members)...

Thinktank is an open collective formed to encourage awareness and activity for the harder, darker, stranger sounds of the underground. We're here to create a scene for what others are afraid to take a chance on, and we're doing it the way it should be; collectively, intelligently, passionately, like there's never another opportunity to make this happen. Bringing our disparate thoughts, abilities and styles together under a common cause, we can and will allow under-represented and never-heard artists to have a voice in spite of unwillingness on the part of promoters and venues. We feel that there's no reason we should stand by and be subjected to the banal tastes of already-established scenes and cliques. We believe that diversity doesn't have to mean mediocrity.
Thinktank is open to anyone feeling left out in the cold because of their difficult tastes. We are offering semi-regular meetings to plan, discuss, and create a community. There's no leaders and no followers, just individuals excited that a movement is happening and willing to do what they can.
The greatest contribution you can make is simply to show up at an event or meeting; if you like what you hear and see, come back next time and bring some friends. Meetings and shows will be advertised long in advance, and you can stay informed and help shape what's to come by coming to or playing at a social issues recording session. Starting in July we are going to do more of a "one genre at a time" approach to social issues...we would like to book more of a all night thing but would like to reserve the hours of 3am to 5am to new artists and up and coming artists here in town that just want to be heard so we are looking for submissions for that as well as more "seasoned" artists to fill the 9pm-3am spots...
